Does it hurt?

The level of discomfort can vary among clients, but the consensus is minimal pain. Jessica employs a premium topical lidocaine gel to enhance your comfort during the process. While some discomfort is inevitable, envision a sensation akin to a slight burning or astringency – a tolerable aspect considering the exceptional results.

How long does it last?

The longevity of your new brows is contingent on several factors, with diligent aftercare playing a pivotal role. On average, Merk Beauty’s expertly crafted brows last approximately 24 months, though individual experiences may vary. Factors such as sun exposure, skin type, and adherence to aftercare instructions influence the durability. To maintain the freshness of your brows, an annual touch-up is recommended.

Do I need to shave or wax brows?

No shaving or waxing is required on your part. Jessica skillfully shapes your eyebrows using shaving and tweezing techniques, complemented by a careful selection of pigments that seamlessly integrate with your natural brows. Although optional, some clients may find it beneficial to have their brows waxed several days before their appointment.

How are Powder/ombre brows different than a traditional Brow Tattoo?

The entire process encompasses approximately 2-3 hours, inclusive of the design phase and the application of a numbing agent. There is no downtime associated with the procedure, and any redness or swelling experienced by some clients is a normal, temporary occurrence.

How long is the Healing Process?

Post-procedure, some swelling and tenderness are normal, typically subsiding within a day or so, depending on the individual. While your new brows may initially appear darker, wider, and sharper, this effect gradually diminishes over the next 7 days as your skin heals. Adhering to aftercare instructions is crucial during this phase. The complete healing process takes about 7 days on average.

Will they look natural?

Absolutely! Merk Beauty specializes in tailoring brows to your preferences, whether you desire a bold or subtle look.

What if my brows are fading quicker than I like?

In such cases, a reassessment of aftercare practices and lifestyle adjustments may be necessary. If required, Jessica may recommend going darker and fuller during your touch-up session.

What if I have concerns after they are healed?

Are there some clients who can’t retain pigment?

• Previous Brow Tattoo/Microblading: Share pictures of your existing work before booking to assess compatibility.
• Pregnant/Breastfeeding: We cannot perform the procedure during pregnancy or nursing, even with the throwaway method.
• Prescription Skincare: If you’re on prescription skincare for various conditions, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne, or dark spots, discontinuation is typically required six months before your microblading appointment.
• Underlying Medical Conditions: Conditions like diabetes, autoimmune diseases, cancer/chemotherapy, or skin conditions may require a doctor’s note.
• Prone to Keloid/Excessive Scarring: Your safety is paramount, and we won’t risk potential complications on your face.
• Taking Blood-Thinning Medications: Approval from a doctor, allowing the temporary cessation of medication, is essential.
• Taking Fish Oil Supplements: Discontinue seven days before your appointment as they thin the blood.
• Sunburned/Damaged Skin: We cannot tattoo sunburned or extensively damaged skin.
• Skincare with RETINOLS: Stop use two weeks before the appointment.
• Skincare with GLYCOLIC or LACTIC ACID: Cease use 30 days before the booking.
• Chemical Peels in the Past 60 Days: Awaiting 60 days ensures optimal healing.
• Botox Injections: Wait two weeks before or after Botox injections.
• Alcohol Consumption: Avoid alcohol for 48 hours before the appointment.
• Coffee: Refrain from drinking coffee on the day of your appointment, and indulge as much as you’d like afterward.

What are the Stages of the Permanent Makeup Brows Healing Process?

Usually, there are 6 stages of the brows healing process, and some of them may be very annoying.

Stage 3 – Light and Patchy Eyebrows

Stage 4 – the color returns

Stage 5 – touch up

Stage 6 – full recovery

Stage 1 – Dark and Swollen Freshly Done Brows

After your Merk Beauty ombre, combination, or microblading brows treatment, expect the initial phase with dark and swollen brows. This is normal, and the pigment may appear too dark. Relax and avoid touching or washing them. Follow any advice provided by your esthetician.

Days 1-2: Your brows will be red, swollen, and appear as a block of color. Refrain from frequent checks, and avoid touching or washing them. If advised, gently blot your eyebrows with a clean, dry cloth.

Days 3-4: The color will fade slightly, but your brows are still in the early stages of healing. If redness persists or intensifies with itchiness, consult your artist to ensure it’s within the expected range.

Stage 2 – Scabbing

Days 5-7: The scabbing stage begins, varying in intensity among individuals. It’s normal to experience some itchiness, but refrain from scratching to avoid disrupting the healing process. Extensive scabbing should be reported to your brow artist.

Stage 3 – Light and Patchy Eyebrows

Days 8-10: As the scabbing phase concludes, your eyebrows may appear patchy and too light. This is normal as new skin layers form over the pigment. The color will gradually return, and the touch-up session will address any patches.

Stage 4 – the color returns

Days 11-28: The most challenging period is over, and you can resume your routine. While your brows haven’t reached their final shape, you can wear makeup again. Be cautious about excessive sweating and sun exposure.

Stage 5 – Touch-Up

 Around the 4-6 week mark, schedule your touch-up session. This step is essential for perfecting the brows, addressing any fading or unevenness, and ensuring long-lasting results.

Days 28-42: Your brows are fully healed. They may already look great after the first touch-up, which is crucial for fixing irregularities and addressing any concerns you may have had. Never skip the mandatory touch-up for optimal results.

Stage 6 – Full Recovery

They’ve taken their final shape, and you can enjoy the long-lasting, beautiful results of your Merk Beauty ombre, combination, or microblading brows.

Day of Treatment: Absorb

With medium pressure, blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every five minutes until oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents lymph hardening and helps prevent scabbing. Blot gently but consistently.

General Aftercare Guidelines:

1. Keep Them Dry: Avoid water contact for the first 24-48 hours. This includes showers, swimming, and intense sweating.
2. Gentle Cleansing: After the initial dry period, clean your brows twice daily using a mild, fragrance-free cleanser or the provided aftercare solution. Gently use a cotton pad or swab, avoiding rubbing.
3. Pat Dry: After cleansing, pat your brows dry with a clean tissue or soft cloth. Avoid rubbing or using abrasive materials.
4. Avoid Makeup and Creams: Refrain from applying makeup, creams, or ointments on the treated area for at least one week. This includes brow pencils.
5. No Sun Exposure: Shield your brows from direct sunlight and tanning beds during the initial healing phase to prevent fading.
6. Hands Off: Resist touching or picking at your microbladed brows. Let scabs naturally flake off during healing.
7. Avoid Heat: Steer clear of saunas, steam rooms, and intense heat during the first week, as excessive sweating can impact healing.
8. Expect Dryness: Powder brows may experience dryness. Apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare ointment to keep the area moisturized.
9. Minimize Physical Activity: Limit strenuous activities and exercise inducing heavy sweating for the first week to prevent pigment displacement

Days 2-10 (Until Scabbing Stops): Cleanse & Moisturize

For days 2 to 10, it’s crucial to follow a gentle cleansing and moisturizing routine to promote proper healing of your eyebrows. Please adhere to the following instructions:

Cleansing Routine:

1. Gently rinse your eyebrows every morning and night with water and a mild, fragrance-free soap (e.g., Dial, baby shampoo, Dove, Cetaphil).
2. Use clean fingertips with a very light touch to gently cleanse the brow area. Rub in a smooth motion for 5-10 seconds, ensuring you cover the entire treated area.
3. Rinse thoroughly with water, making sure all soap is removed.
4. To dry, gently pat the brows with a clean tissue or allow them to air dry.
5. DO NOT use cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA) or any exfoliants.

Moisturizing Routine:

• Healing with minimal aftercare ointment is ideal. Apply Aquaphor only if you experience extreme itchiness and discomfort.
• If necessary, use a rice grain-sized amount of Aquaphor with a cotton swab and spread it over the affected area. Avoid overapplication, as too much ointment can hinder healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin.
• Never apply ointment on wet or damp tattooed skin.

Avoid Rubbing or Picking:

• Refrain from rubbing or picking at your brows, as this can lead to scarring or infection.
• Allow any scabs to naturally fall off; do not force or pick at them.
