Merk Beauty is a fully licensed tattoo studio, and Jessica is a Certified Permanent Makeup Artist (PMU). Jessica has undergone a comprehensive hands-on apprenticeship and holds certifications in blood-borne pathogens, ensuring a secure and hygienic environment. Opting for a licensed and insured PMU is paramount for the protection of your health throughout the procedure.
Does it hurt?
The level of discomfort can vary among clients, but the consensus is minimal pain. Jessica employs a premium topical lidocaine gel to enhance your comfort during the process.
While some discomfort is inevitable, envision a sensation akin to a slight burning or astringency – a tolerable aspect considering the exceptional results.
How long does it last?
The longevity of your new brows is contingent on several factors, with diligent aftercare playing a pivotal role. On avreage, Merk Beauty’s expertly crafted brows last approximately 24 months, though individual experiences may vary. Factors such as sun exposure, skin type, and adherence to aftercare instructions influence the durability. To maintain the freshness of your brows, an annual touch-up is recommended.
Do I need to shave or wax brows?
No shaving or waxing is required on your part. Jessica skillfully shapes your eyebrows using shaving and tweezing techniques, complemented by a careful selection of pigments that seamlessly integrate with your natural brows. Although optional, some clients may find it beneficial to have their brows waxed several days before their appointment.
How are Powder/ombre brows different than a traditional Brow Tattoo?

The entire process encompasses approximately 2-3 hours, inclusive of the design phase and the application of a numbing agent. There is no downtime associated with the procedure, and any redness or swelling experienced by some clients is a normal, temporary occurrence.
How long is the Healing Process?
Post-procedure, some swelling and tenderness are normal, typically subsiding within a day or so, depending on the individual. While your new brows may initially appear darker, wider, and sharper, this effect gradually diminishes over the next 7 days as your skin heals. Adhering to aftercare instructions is crucial during this phase. The complete healing process takes about 7 days on average.
Will they look natural?
Absolutely! Merk Beauty specializes in tailoring brows to your preferences, whether you desire a bold or subtle look.
What if my brows are fading quicker than I like?
In such cases, a reassessment of aftercare practices and lifestyle adjustments may be necessary. If required, Jessica may recommend going darker and fuller during your touch-up session.
What if I have concerns after they are healed?

Are there some clients who can’t retain pigment?
While this is a rare occurrence, it’s essential to acknowledge that some individuals may experience challenges in retaining pigment. In such instances, further touch-ups may be recommended, but it’s crucial to recognize the limitations to avoid compromising the skin’s integrity. Understanding Who May NOT Be An Ideal Candidate For Permanent Eyebrows!
At Merk Beauty, we prioritize your safety and satisfaction. If any of the following conditions apply to you, please notify us before booking to ensure your deposit isn’t forfeited:
- Previous Brow Tattoo/Microblading: Share pictures of your existing work before booking to assess compatibility.
- Pregnant/Breastfeeding: We cannot perform the procedure during pregnancy or nursing, even with the throwaway method.
- Prescription Skincare: If you’re on prescription skincare for various conditions, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne, or dark spots, discontinuation is typically required six months before your microblading appointment.
- Underlying Medical Conditions: Conditions like diabetes, autoimmune diseases, cancer/chemotherapy, or skin conditions may require a doctor’s note.
- Prone to Keloid/Excessive Scarring: Your safety is paramount, and we won’t risk potential complications on your face.
- Taking Blood-Thinning Medications: Approval from a doctor, allowing the temporary cessation of medication, is essential.
- Taking Fish Oil Supplements: Discontinue seven days before your appointment as they thin the blood.
- Sunburned/Damaged Skin: We cannot tattoo sunburned or extensively damaged skin.
- Skincare with RETINOLS: Stop use two weeks before the appointment.
- Skincare with GLYCOLIC or LACTIC ACID: Cease use 30 days before the booking.
- Chemical Peels in the Past 60 Days: Awaiting 60 days ensures optimal healing.
- Botox Injections: Wait two weeks before or after Botox injections.
- Alcohol Consumption: Avoid alcohol for 48 hours before the appointment.
- Coffee: Refrain from drinking coffee on the day of your appointment, and indulge as much as you’d like afterward.

HOW TO BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT
Once you have reviewed the information in this section based on the services you are looking to get, please ask us any questions you have.
You will then be required to pay the deposit or Booking Price to secure your appointment by booking the appointment online.
YOUR APPOINTMENT IS NOT CONSIDERED BOOKED UNTIL YOU HAVE PAID

Lastly, please do not book an appointment without a consultation if you have ever had prior permanent makeup before, no matter how long ago it was or how faded it looks to you!
Please note that children under the age of 10 are not allowed in the salon for safety reasons DURING PERMANENT MAKEUP SESSIONS. Children over the age of 10 must be able to sit quietly alone in the waiting area. Unfortunately, if you arrive at your appointment with children under the age of 10 you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Please read this policy before booking any appointments at Merk Beauty to make sure you fully understand.
The reason for this policy is that we remain very booked for all services, with some clients waiting for many months to be seen. While we are ever so grateful for our wonderful clients, timely and efficient service is necessary for us to provide outstanding customer service. If you fail to comply with these policies we are unable to service everyone in a fair and efficient way. Customer satisfaction is our highest priority, and these policies exist to give all clients the absolute best experience possible. We are so thankful for your business and welcome any inquiries about this policy!
- For all permanent makeup appointments, a 48-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We just ask that you please call and let us know, (voice mail if necessary), text or email us at least 48 hours prior to your appointment time to cancel or reschedule.
- Should you fail to cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 48 hours before your appointment, you will forfeit your booking deposit. Should you wish to reschedule your appointment at that point, you definitely can! You will have to pay another non-refundable deposit to book another date.
- Should you cancel or reschedule your appointment within 12 hours of your appointment, or no call/no show, you will not only forfeit your booking deposit but also will be required to pay the full balance of your missed appointment cost before you can re-book with us.
- Once you pay the full cost of your original missed appointment, another deposit must be paid which will go toward the new appointment cost to book another appointment. As usual, the balance of the new appointment cost is due at the time of the new appointment.
- Should you cancel or reschedule your free 4-8 week touch up appointment within 12 hours, or no call/no show for your appointment, you will be required to pay for your touch-up.
- Touch-up prices are listed in our pricing menu.
- Therefore, if you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment you will forfeit your deposit and be required to pay for the balance of your appointment before you can re-book.
- If you are over 15 minutes late to an appointment, you will be asked to reschedule, and the same policies above will apply. This is because all clients receive thorough consultations and detailed, precise work. As a result, we will not rush your appointment or others.
